ABB India announces Q3 results

The company booked orders worth 18933 MINR during the third quarter ending 30 September 2009. Cumulative order intake for nine months ending September 2009 was 63080 MINR. Order backlog increased from 71051 MINR in Q3 2008 to 80233 MINR in Q3 2009. The company received major orders for electrical equipment and systems in the third quarter.

"The Indian economy continues to show signs of recovery. Performance of core sectors over the next few quarters will be a critical factor in deciding business expectations. While the tone is still cautious, we may be in a phase of bottoming out of the slowdown in India continues to be our belief," said Biplab Majumder, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, ABB India announcing the company's third quarter results. "Stimulus packages and higher spending on infrastructure by the government have proved to be helpful in bringing some optimism in the economy," he added.

The revenues for three months ending September 2009 reached 14697 MINR, registering a 6 percent decline over the same period last year. The company’s net profit after tax for Q3 2009 was 831 MINR compared to 1048 MINR in Q3 2008.
