(NYSE: T) and Sí TV today announced a distribution agreement to deliver Sí TV — the first English-language network for America's young Latino and multicultural audience — as part of the AT&T U-verseSM TV channel lineup. Under the agreement, AT&T U-verse customers will receive Sí TV's fresh programming, which features the latest in lifestyle, reality, talk shows, comedy, and music and feature films for young Latinos — all in an authentic and culturally relevant voice. "AT&T U-verse TV is dedicated to delivering content that speaks to each of our customers," said Dan York, head of programming, AT&T Operations, Inc. "Sí TV's progressive programming is an excellent addition to our diverse channel lineup, and we are thrilled to offer this cutting-edge network to AT&T U-verse TV customers." "America's young Latinos are the fastest-growing TV audience, yet they've been virtually ignored and under-represented on television," said Michael Schwimmer, CEO of Sí TV. "AT&T's decision to include Sí TV as part of their U-verse service represents an important commitment to a key part of their communities." AT&T U-verse TV is delivered by Project Lightspeed, the company's initiative to expand the fiber-optics network deeper into neighborhoods to deliver U-verse TV, AT&T Yahoo!® High Speed Internet U-verse Enabled and, in the future, Voice over IP services. Through its subsidiaries, AT&T expects to reach nearly 19 million households by the end of 2008 as part of its initial deployment, using fiber-to-the-node (FTTN) and fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP) technologies. |
