AT&T Investing Nearly $19 Million This Year in the New Hampshire Wireless Network

Company to Expand Footprint and Offer iPhone to Customers Throughout the State

2 Jul 2008 , Nashua, New Hampshire : AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) has announced a planned investment of nearly $19 million in the New Hampshire wireless network in 2008, which marks the largest investment since 2005 and will bring the four-year state investment total to more than $35 million.

AT&T has delivered dramatic change in New Hampshire — a direct result of the company's continuing efforts to expand and enhance its network operations and the synergies that come from being part of the world's largest communications company.

Part of the 2008 investment plan calls for 28 new cell sites in the state. AT&T customers who live or vacation near New Hampshire's scenic Lakes Region will benefit from 11 of the planned cell sites in Alton, Gilford, Laconia, Meredith, Moultonborough, Wakefield and Wolfeboro.

The remaining 17 planned sites will enhance and expand wireless coverage along Route 202 in Antrim, Bennington, Deering, Hillsborough and Peterborough, as well as near Route 114 in Goffstown, Weare and New Boston. One planned site will bring new coverage to Somersworth. New cell sites are also planned in Londonderry and Pelham along Route 128, in Windham on Route 111 and in Hollis on Route 122. Manchester will receive two new sites — along Route 93 and 28A. Two other sites are planned for the Nashua area — one in the southern part of the city and the other in Hudson along Route 3A.

"It is our goal to ensure that AT&T customers in New Hampshire and all over the country have the very best wireless experience possible — which includes great coverage and quality of service," said Steve Krom, vice president and general manager for AT&T's wireless operations in New England. "Our ongoing investment in the New Hampshire network provides our customers with the benefits of a state-of-the-art voice and data network, along with cutting-edge wireless devices."

In addition to the 28 new sites in New Hampshire, AT&T customers who commute to Massachusetts on a regular basis will benefit from three new sites in Methuen.

Later this year, AT&T will also expand its high speed third-generation (3G) network to 90 additional cell sites, bringing mobile broadband capability to customers in areas of Hillsborough, Merrimack, Rockingham and Strafford counties.

AT&T's 3G network opens the door to a new era of mobile services, devices and feature-rich audio and video content, including the simultaneous sharing of voice and live video. Many of AT&T's 3G devices support AT&T Video ShareSM, a first-of-its-kind service in the U.S. that enables users to share live video while carrying on a voice call — providing a new way to share personal moments and key events beyond the capabilities of voice, text and photos.

New Hampshire customers in all parts of the state now have access to AT&T's full lineup of exclusive devices and services, including the Apple iPhone, the new LG Vu and the BlackBerry® Pearl. Customers can shop online or visit any AT&T company-owned store or authorized retailer.
