: CNOOC Ltdon signed a memorandum of understanding with Qatargas to purchase 5 million tons of liquefied natural gas every year, bringing the annual supply volume to 7 million tons, sources reported.
Last year, CNOOC inked a 25-year LNG contract to acquire two million tons from Qatargas per year. In October, the Chinese oil giant received the first shipment, which was 216,000 cubic meters, at Dapeng LNG terminal in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province.
On Nov. 13, the Qatari oil developer opened a representative office in China and said it plans to offload LNG to several of CNOOC's terminals, including one in Fujian Province and another in Shanghai that is still under construction. |
