: HPCL has been awarded the "Golden Peacock Award 2008" for Excellence in Corporate Governance. The Award is conferred by "World Council for Corporate Governance" (WCFCG), UK and Institute of Directors, India. The Award was presented to Shri N R Narayanan, Company Secretary - HPCL at the 9th International Conference on Corporate Governance held at London by Dr. Ola Ullsten, former Prime Minister of Sweden & Chairman - WCFCG,in the presence of Baroness Shreela Flather, Member -House of Lords, Dr Madav Mehra, President - WCFCG and Shri C B Bhave, Chairman - SEBI. This annual award is conferred to companies which demonstrate benchmark standards and excellence in Corporate Governance The winners were selected through an elaborate multilevel and transparent assessment process. This is the fourth time that HPCL has won the Golden Peacock Award for Corporate Governance. It has earlier won it in 2003, 2006 & 2007. Winning the prestigious Award underlines the high value that HPCL places on Corporate Governance. The Golden Peacock Award for Excellence in Corporate Governance is a re-affirmation of the level of disclosure and transparency at HPCL. |
