: Digital technology leader, Samsung India today announced the inauguration of its Split Airconditioner manufacturing line at its Sriperumbudur manufacturing complex. The AC manufacturing facility in India is the 5th Samsung AC Manufacturing facility in the world. Samsung India, which had inaugurated the Sriperumbudur Complex in November 2007, is already manufacturing LCD TVs, Flat and Slim CTVs, front loading washing machines and Colour Monitors in the Sriperumbudur Complex.
Announcing the inauguration of the Air conditioner Line, stated Mr. Jung Soo Shin, President & CEO, Samsung South West Asia HQ, “The Air conditioner business is a key growth engine for our Home Appliance business. The setting up of the Air conditioner Production facility will provide a strong fillip to this business on account of world-class, superior quality production at this facility and better supply chain management leading to faster response to the market”. The Company has put in place stringent quality measures to ensure world class quality production like Digital Inspection, Auto outdoor performance test and noise test, Auto charging measuring test and digital brazing system to name a few. The Air conditioner line will have a production capacity of 50,000 units per month.
The Company will be manufacturing Split ACs at this facility for catering to its market requirements in South and West. The South Region is the largest contributor to the Company’s Split AC sales nationally. “We are expecting Split ACs to contribute over 65% of our AC volumes this year” states Mr. Shin. Samsung India is expecting to notch up a 20% market share in the Indian market by the end of the year.
Samsung’s manufacturing complex at Noida manufactures world-class CTVs, LED/LCD TVs, Mobile Phones, Refrigerators and Washing Machines.
