| Siemens runs SAP applications for IT service provider VBG

: VBG (Verwaltungs- und Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH Herford) has commissioned Siemens to run all of its commercial SAP applications in the business administration field for a period of four years. The order is worth two million euros. This will allow VBG to concentrate on its core competencies: IT processes for processing and recycling materials through to marketing new raw materials. VBG belongs to Veolia Umweltservice GmbH, an internationally leading company for environmental services with around 250 sites through Germany. It is the company's in-house IT service provider and has now completely outsourced operation of business applications to Siemens. The Siemens subsidiary SBI Ruhr, which belongs to Siemens IT Solutions and Services, will be responsible for hosting the SAP systems and ensure that they are available around the clock, seven days a week. A central help desk will provide assistance to the 800 or so users in the event of any problems. The advantages: VBG gets everything from a single source and benefits from Siemens' global outsourcing and SAP expertise.
